One...
one little knit stitch – that’s all it took to defeat me…
I’ve been wanting to make A Noble Cowl for a long while, so a few days ago I cast on 120 stitches, using my stitch marker and row counter to keep track. I was full of enthusiasm until I came to the end of row 3 and realized I was missing a stitch needed to make a knit2together.
I was too tired (and lazy) to figure out where I'd gone wrong, so I just knit the one stitch and hoped it would pass for a k2tog. I tootled along thinking how clever I was - until I came to the end of row 5 and discovered I now had one extra stitch sitting on the needle. What????
By this time my eyes were starting to twirl in their sockets and my brain was cramping (I'm in the midst of another bout of vertigo) so I unzipped the 119 or 121 sts. and cast on an Unscrunchable Scarf…
I still want to knit A Noble Cowl one day when I am feeling stronger. I am in awe of all the Ravelry knitters who have knit this beautiful cowl so effortlessly (658 as of today); you are brilliant.
I also need to knit another sweater for Basil as he was quite upset when he saw Wilfred wearing this garter stitch cardigan…

And that, dear reader, is that. I hope you have a peaceful week and I look forward to seeing you next Friday if all goes well.
