School's In...

Sarah is wearing a new fall sweater and a new hairdo. Some of her teddy friends have come along to keep her company. She is learning lots of new stuff.

A cloth I knit from MELISSA’S PATTERNS didn’t turn out so well. I neglected to tighten up the stitch between the knits & purls and it looks a little ragged. Sarah likes it though.

I'm attempting a scarf knit in the round with various colours and a rib pattern. While googling for information on changing colours in the round, I came across Meg Swansen's JOGLESS JOG technique. There's a most detailed description with photos at the SOCKNITTERS SITE.

Urban Wildlife...

Our raccoon friend made another appearance and caused a disturbance with the crow population. He was sitting up in the branches of our cedar bushes and would poke his head out once in awhile. I think he was trying to soak up the warm rays of the midday sun.

The pattern for these Ruby Slippers is posted on the JUST LET ME FINISH THIS ROW blog. My wizard knitting friend whipped up these two pairs just days after I sent her the pattern. Aren't they adorable?

This pair is made with two strands of DK weight yarn:

This pair was knit with a silk denim yarn. You can see how tiny they are:

More scenery from our nature park...

These puffball mushrooms look more like rocks:

K added the feather to show the relative size of this wee mushroom:

Sarah is busy reading her favourite book to her friends, so I will bid you adieu this time and hope to see you next Friday. Be as happy as you can be.
