Cozy...

I'm in cup-cozy-making mood...

This was crocheted in Sugar 'n Cream Cotton - Hot Purple...

The pattern is simple:
Chain 12-15 stitches with a 4mm hook and worsted weight yarn. Sc through the back loop only until the cozy barely fits around the cup when you pull it tightly, then slipstitch together. Add two rounds of sc to the bottom of the cozy. The top frill is made like this: *5dc into first stitch, skip one stitch, sc into next stitch*, repeat from * to * around and join. Throw on a button or any decoration and you have your own special cup cozy...like this one in autumn orange...

Our hydrangeas have morphed into the most delightful shades of purple and mauve...

A few days of intense rain brought back the green sparkle to our trees....

The bunnies are still mowing our grass...

and squirrels are still eating our peanuts...
Autumn doesn't begin here officially for another ten days, but Mother Nature doesn't work to a schedule. The air has a crisp chill hiding behind the sunshine days. I'm airing out the thick comforters and fleece blankets. I love this time of year. I hope you are enjoying your season, dear reader. See you soon!

“Summer ends and Autumn comes and he who would have it otherwise would have high tide always and a full moon every night; and thus he would never know the rhythms that are at the heart of life.”
