Change Is Good...
Usually my Ballband cloths have two garter stitches added on each side to make the edges neat and tidy. This time I decided to change my ways, so I just followed the pattern exactly as written and I actually like the raggedy edges…
I used one ball of Sugar’n Cream Holiday Stripes to make this Basket Rib Dishcloth and Feather & Fan cloth…
The above photo was taken before I washed the two cloths. When they came out of the wash, I discovered the red colour had leaked into the beige and left pink streaks everywhere. Good thing I wash all my cloths before sending them on their way.
I’ve been trying to knit with some new yarn - Elann Adara - and having a difficult time...
It’s billed as a worsted/aran weight but it feels like DK and I can’t seem to match it to a pattern. At least it doesn’t fuzz too much when reknitted; I’ve ripped it out about a kajillion times and it still looks fairly new. It could be I’m so used to working with worsted weight cotton that my brain and fingers are resisting the change.
***Note to self: Change is Good. Change is Good. Change is Good.
Speaking of change, here’s a picture of Steveston from another angle, taken in the early morning light…
I’m resting in bed a lot these days, snuggled under my comforter and watching the wind play in my willow tree…
My dear corkscrew willow is scheduled for a haircut this autumn; apparently it’s getting too big for its britches and needs to be taken down a branch or two. I will be watching as the trimmers do their work, making sure they don’t take too much away. Change is good but it’s nice if we can have a say in how big the change will be.
One thing that won’t change, dear reader, is my wish to you for a peaceful week and the hope that I’ll see you next Friday.
